The topic of Horse Slaughter is hot right now. I urge everyone to read a Letter to the Editor that's quite on target. Read it at:

It's written by a Professor of Economics at the University of Southern California.

THEN email the Governor of Montana and tell him WHY he should VETO HB418, the bill that is sitting on his desk, which would allow the opening of a Slaughter Plant in his state. His email address is Governor@MT.Gov. The representatives of the citizens of that state voted FOR the bill, even though the majority of their constituents is against having a slaughter plant for horses. Now it sits on Governor Schweiter's desk, awaiting his veto or his signature.

I used to operate Bright Meadows D&S Riding Academy (on Prodlin Way) ages ago. I was delighted to hear about your group because, back in the early 70's, we rescued a few horses from the slaughter house - some of our most loving horses.... Great job; keep it up!
